The Lowell Humane Society is overloaded with bedding and generously offers to share:

If any shelter or rescue groups are in need of bedding, we are overloaded. We just got 8 tons delivered from UMass and do not have the storage for it all. We plan to donate it to local area shelters, but it is also free to any animal shelter or rescue in need. Please email us or call if you would like us to put some aside for your group. You must arrange pick-up.

ACOs-If you have a dog in need, contact PoundHounds NOW for help with funding! We have funding available for spay/neuter surgeries and other medical care. We are especially interested in helping ACOs who have little or no funds for this kind of care and/or have limited fundraising capabilities but who do adopt out dogs themselves

Funding Available for Spay/Neuter and Medical

Providing Over a Decade of Support to ACOs

PoundHounds, Inc., is a Massachusetts-based, non-profit organization. PoundHounds serves a unique need in the animal welfare community. No other organization is focused on providing direct, grassroots support to Animal Control Officers. For over a decade, we have worked closely with ACOs to provide funding for extraordinary medical care and spaying/neutering.

Depending on funding available, we have also helped ACOs by buying Kuranda beds for town pounds and sponsoring training for dogs. In addition, we will also post your dogs on our web site and Petfinder (we require good photos and a description of the dog, which we can help write).

If you would like to participate in the program, please fill out this application.

If you are already working with PoundHounds, you can download a spay/neuter request form or medical funding request form.

Animal Control officers can contact June @ 413-441-8503 for questions regarding the program.

Training Application

Poundhounds can provide training for an ACO dog when training is necessary to faciltate placement of the dog.  Please fill out and submit a training request to be considered for training assistance.
